St. Louis Business Journal ranks Greensfelder on “Healthiest Employers 2021 List”

September 3, 2021

Greensfelder is honored to announce the firm recently ranked as one of the Top 3 Healthiest Medium-Sized St. Louis Employers, as determined by the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Healthiest Employers 2021 List”. The Business Journal defines medium-sized employers as having between 100 and 499 employees. 28 other organizations competed with Greensfelder, the only law firm to make the list of profiled companies.

The Healthiest Employers Awards were created to recognize companies and nonprofits that commit to making wellness a priority and proactively shape the health of their employees.

Greensfelder’s Well-Being Program

Greensfelder’s comprehensive Well-Being Program and mental health resources provided flexibility and support to employees during the pandemic. Resources benefiting employees have included in-office yoga classes, meditation sessions, health and wellness educational programming, and firmwide fitness challenges.

According to Greensfelder’s HR department, “the pandemic has increased our focus on physical safety in the workplace for employees who are required to work in-person. Additionally, the pandemic caused us to give heightened attention to mental, emotional and social wellness initiatives…We also recognized that being a healthy workplace meant that for a good portion of the year we were not together in person, so we connected more often by using technology to promote well-being and self-care while working from our homes.”

Launched in early 2019, Greensfelder’s Well-Being Program is led by Human Resources Manager Jessie Fenton.

Healthiest Employers Awards Methodology

According to the publication, the assessment is administered by Springbuk and is made up of six key categories:

  1. Culture and leadership commitment
  2. Foundational components
  3. Strategic planning
  4. Communities and marketing
  5. Programming and interventions
  6. Reporting and analysis

The categories, proprietary scoring and benchmarking were formed with the help of the academic, medical, wellness and business communities. The assessment is scored Rubric style on a 1-100 scale. The questions are made up of yes/no, multiple choice and short answer questions, with each question totaling .25-3 points. A Healthiest Employers Index (HEI) is assigned to each applicant to help rank among companies of similar size.
