Carmen White earns 2021 Diversity & Inclusion honor
The awards recognize individuals and organizations who are advancing “diversity, inclusion and the dignity of all people in Missouri’s legal profession and in communities in which exceptional legal work impacts justice for all.”
White and the 20 other honorees will be recognized in a virtual event March 25.
White works to attract, develop and retain a diverse pool of attorneys and staff and promote an inclusive work environment. She assists in providing diversity education for employees, measures the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion initiatives and works with the firm’s chief diversity officer and Equity, Retention and Advancement Committee with community outreach efforts. She coordinates opportunities for engagement between law students and practicing attorneys, with a goal of helping students understand what to expect from law firm careers and how they can prepare themselves. In 2020, Saint Louis University School of Law’s Black Law Students Association selected White as the recipient of the Ronda F. Williams Service Award, recognizing her dedication to helping diverse law school students prepare for careers in the legal profession.
