St. Louis Business Journal highlights Greensfelder among ‘Healthiest Employers’

August 28, 2020

Greensfelder is featured in the St. Louis Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers special section on Aug. 28, 2020, as one of the region’s most noteworthy companies for health and wellness programs.

This year’s list of Healthiest Employers includes an emphasis on how companies have adjusted their health and wellness programs during the pandemic – from online classes and trainings to mental health resources. Greensfelder’s profile highlights those efforts as well as other benefits of the firm’s Well-Being Program.

Greensfelder’s comprehensive Well-Being Program, according to the Business Journal profile, “strives to increase the overall well-being of all employees through the variety of wellness opportunities offered within physical, financial, emotional and social health – every month. … We offer healthy food in our offices and reward with wellness prizes, gift cards and recognition.”

Employees have pointed to in-office yoga classes, meditation sessions, firmwide challenges and other aspects of the program as valuable benefits.

The Healthiest Employers profile also covers aspects of employee wellness that have changed as a result of COVID-19 and remote work: “As a result of the pandemic, we enhanced our employee safety protocols within our work environment. … Work schedules were established to enable proper distancing and offer flexibility to working parents and caregivers.

“We immediately communicated ergonomic suggestions to our employees to help aid them in setting up proper work stations at home. We created a formal work from home toolkit that communicates resources and suggestions on successfully working from home. … With the use of technology, we have been able to continue our wellness opportunities in creative ways even if we are not in the office, and we have continued to have a high participation rate as a result.”

The Well-Being Program, launched in early 2019, is led by Human Resources Manager Jessie Fenton.

The Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers program was administered by workplace consultant Springbuk, which surveyed employees at each company regarding their health and wellness programs. Two dozen organizations from across the St. Louis region were named finalists, including Greensfelder in the medium-sized employers category.
