Russell Scott honored with ISBA’s rare Medal of Merit Award
Greensfelder attorney Russell K. Scott was recognized June 16, 2018, with the Illinois State Bar Association’s Medal of Merit Award. The Medal of Merit recognizes attorneys for exemplary achievement and continuous long-standing service to the legal profession and the community. It is awarded rarely, only given in extraordinary circumstances where an individual has made “a significant contribution to the altruistic goals of the profession or the public.” Scott was presented with the award at ISBA’s annual meeting.
Scott is the leader of Greensfelder’s Belleville office and has held numerous leadership roles in local, state and national organizations. He is a former member of ISBA’s Board of Governors. He has been involved with numerous bar associations, including as the former president of the St. Clair County Bar Association, and is a past president of the Illinois Bar Foundation. He also has served as chairman, president and chief volunteer officer for the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation and chairman of the Belleville Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
