Susan Meyer begins service as Norwegian Honorary Consul
Greensfelder Officer Susan Meyer has been appointed as Norway’s Honorary Consul for Illinois, assuming the new role on Dec. 1, 2019.
“I am honored to have the chance to fulfill this diplomatic role and grateful for the opportunity to serve,” Meyer said. “I look forward to continuing the work of building business and cultural connections between Illinois and Norway.”
The role of Norway’s Honorary Consul includes assisting with consular affairs and helping to facilitate development of business, cultural, and educational relations between Norway and the U.S. In conjunction with Meyer’s appointment, Greensfelder’s Chicago office is designated by Norway’s Foreign Ministry as the Royal Norwegian Honorary Consulate.

In her practice, she frequently advises companies on matters related to commerce between the U.S. and Scandinavia. She is a past president of the Chicago Chapter of the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of the Norwegian-American Defense and Homeland Security Industry Council (NADIC). She is on the board of Women Entrepreneurs Grow Global (WEGG), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women-owned businesses expand internationally.
