Jessica Mendez chosen for ABA Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy
Greensfelder attorney Jessica M. Mendez has been selected to take part in a leadership training and professional development program designed to strengthen the pipeline of diverse bar association leaders and foster diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
Mendez will take part in the Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy from June 23-25, 2019, in Denver, Colorado. The program is a joint initiative of the American Bar Association’s Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession and the Commission on Disability Rights, Hispanic National Bar Association, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, National Bar Association, National LGBT Bar Association and National Native American Bar Association. Participants have the opportunity to network with leaders from national bar associations, receive leadership training from leading experts in the field, and develop the skills necessary to successfully lead local and national organizations.
Mendez is a member of Greensfelder’s Intellectual Property team. Her practice focuses on management, protection and enforcement of trademarks and other intellectual property assets. She is active in numerous local and national organizations that promote diversity in the legal profession. She serves on the board of the Hispanic National Bar Association as Deputy Vice President of Programs and is the president emeritus and a founding member of the Hispanic Bar Association of St. Louis, an affiliate of the Hispanic National Bar Association. She also serves as General Counsel to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis and as the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee Chair for the Intellectual Property Litigation section of DRI. She also volunteers for the Hispanic Educational, Cultural, and Scholarship Fund, raising funds for scholarships for Hispanic students, and for Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts, providing pro bono legal services to local artists.
