Vanessa Keith named general counsel to Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club
Vanessa Keith, an officer at Greensfelder, has been named general counsel to the Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club. She will continue her litigation and employment law practice at Greensfelder while assisting the club, which serves thousands of youths throughout the St. Louis area, offering structured recreational activities and education enrichment meant to build self-esteem and personal growth.
Keith formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club, a position she had held since 2012. She recently chaired the 2015 Sheer Elegance fashion show fundraiser, earning the club’s Meritorious Service Award. She will transition from her service on the board — which has included roles as chair of the human resources and search committees — into a new role as the organization’s legal counsel.
Keith is an experienced litigator and counselor, working on behalf of clients ranging from non-profit organizations to Fortune 500 companies. She handles complex business disputes as well as employee discipline issues and harassment and discrimination claims and advises employers on corporate policies, data breach issues and employment agreements.
Keith was named an Inspiring St. Louisan by the NAACP chapter of St. Louis County in 2014 and was recently awarded the Unsung Hero Award from the St. Louis chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction. She was named one of St. Louis Business Monthly’s 2013 “Top 100 St. Louisans to Know to Succeed in Business” and was honored with the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Chairman's Award in 2011. She has been involved with community organizations including the Mound City Bar Foundation Board of Directors, Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts Board of Directors.
The Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club is a non-profit 501(c)(3) United Way member agency that provides comprehensive athletics, arts, healthy living, educational enrichment, leadership and professional development and summer camp programs to thousands of youths ages 5-18 within the St. Louis metropolitan region. The organization’s mission is to produce physically active, well-educated and hopeful youths, with families at the center of its efforts.
