Greensfelder Celebrates Katie Fechte as a 2023 Up & Coming Award Honoree
Greensfelder is pleased to announce that Missouri Lawyers Media has named Katie Fechte as an honoree for its 2023 Up & Coming Awards. This award recognizes emerging lawyers who are 40 or younger or are within their first 10 years of practice and demonstrate professional excellence while making a positive impact on their profession and communities. Fechte and the other honorees were recognized at the award ceremony on October 12th at the Maritz Campus Event Space Building.
Fechte’s accomplishments in employment and labor law, coupled with her dedication to mentorship, have earned her this well-deserved honor. A member of Greensfelder's Employment & Labor practice group, Fechte assists companies with employment and labor law matters, including defending employers against charges of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. She specializes in working with large St. Louis employers in industries such as health care and education. Fechte’s litigation experience includes notable cases such as defending a large hospital system in an ERISA class action, representing a construction client in a collective bargaining dispute and successfully defending a financial institution in a high-stakes arbitration seeking $8 million in damages.
Fechte’s impact extends beyond the courtroom by helping to nurture firm culture through mentoring, recruiting and supporting new parents. A go-to for guidance, she is a resource for junior attorneys and a frequent employment law reference firmwide.
Fechte first joined the firm in 2014 as a summer associate. During law school, she worked as an intern for Judge Robert G. Dowd Jr. at the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District. She also interned at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.
