Greensfelder Appoints Kevin McLaughlin as President/CEO Elect
Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin T. McLaughlin as the firm’s next president and chief executive officer, effective Feb. 1, 2020.
McLaughlin has been appointed to the role following the passing of former Greensfelder chief executive officer Timothy R. Thornton in June 2019. Since then, Greensfelder Officer John W. Dillane has served as interim CEO. McLaughlin will work closely with Dillane over the next several months to ensure a smooth transition of leadership responsibility.
“Kevin is highly respected both inside and outside the firm and will carry on the legacy of Tim Thornton’s dedication to our firm’s clients, employees and our overall success,” Dillane said.
In choosing its next president and CEO, the firm prioritized finding a leader who embodied the firm’s core values and would continue to execute the strategic growth plan implemented earlier this year. That plan prioritizes key industries seen as vital to the firm’s future success, and it promotes a vision of giving all employees the opportunity to succeed, promoting diversity of leadership, and putting clients and community at the forefront. McLaughlin will continue to further those efforts, with a commitment to protecting and preserving the firm’s culture while driving long-term growth.
“In the interim, John Dillane’s leadership has been instrumental,” said Jennifer A. Davis, a Greensfelder Officer and member of the firm’s board and executive committee. “We are all indebted to John for his willingness to shepherd the firm into this next phase. He is an outstanding leader and person, and he has our deepest thanks for his service during this time of change”.
McLaughlin joined Greensfelder in 2006 and is currently the leader of the Employment & Labor practice group. He also previously served on the firm’s board of directors. His work in employment law and labor law is nationally and regionally recognized, with rankings in Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation and Best Lawyers in America. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law and received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College.
