Kara Cenar to receive Salute! Women in Law Award

Kara CenarGreensfelder Officer Kara E.F. Cenar has been selected as a 2020 Chicago Daily Law Bulletin & Chicago Lawyer Women in Law honoree.

The 50 honorees were announced May 8 in a live webinar and will be honored at a reception Sept. 2. This is the inaugural year for the Salute! Women in Law awards, which recognize women in the legal profession for their success, leadership and work to advance other women. More than 500 nominees were submitted, according to a news release from the publications.

“We’re so excited to recognize all of the incredible women who are leading the way in Chicago’s legal community,” said Ginger Lamb, vice president and publisher of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer. “It was not easy to choose this year’s inaugural slate because of the caliber of all the honorees and the accomplishments they have made.”

Cenar focuses her legal practice on intellectual property and leads Greensfelder’s IP litigation team. She is a founding member of Chicago Women in Intellectual Property, a networking and mentoring group committed to the connection, promotion and success of professional Chicago women in every facet of IP law. She has been involved with numerous other local and national legal and business organizations, including as a founding charter member of the Intellectual Property Institute, a senior fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, and a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. In addition, she has held numerous leadership positions with the National Association of Women Business Owners.
