Diversity and Inclusion Manager Carmen White to receive SLU service award
Greensfelder Diversity and Inclusion Manager Carmen White will be honored in March for her dedication to helping diverse law school students prepare for careers in the legal profession.
The Saint Louis University School of Law’s Black Law Students Association selected White as the 2020 recipient of the Ronda F. Williams Service Award. The award, given annually, recognizes those who have assisted the organization in the advancement of its goals. White’s recognition is particularly noteworthy because although the award is typically given to practicing attorneys, BLSA made an exception in order to honor her outstanding level of commitment as a professional staff member. She will be honored at the BLSA’s annual Judicial Reception on March 19.
White’s role at Greensfelder includes coordinating opportunities for engagement between law students and practicing attorneys, with a goal of helping students understand what to expect from law firm careers and how they can prepare themselves. She works regularly with SLU’s BLSA and other student organizations to create those opportunities and build continuing relationships.
