Legal Services of Eastern Missouri honors Greensfelder with Gerald R. Ortbals Outstanding Law Firm Award
Greensfelder will be one of 12 equal access to justice champions recognized during Legal Services of Eastern Missouri's 2012 For the Common Good Awards Reception on Aug. 29 at NEO on Locust.
The annual reception recognizes individuals and organizations that have been supportive of LSEM's mission of providing civil legal services and equal access to justice for the low-income community.
"We look forward to recognizing those who embody the spirit and principles of equal access to justice," said Dan Glazier, LSEM executive director and general counsel. "Everyone being honored has demonstrated boundless enthusiasm and deep devotion to helping the underserved in our community."
Over the past year, Greensfelder attorneys logged in excess of 3,700 hours of pro bono work. Attorneys receive billable hour credit for the pro bono work they do, up to an annual limit per attorney. Greensfelder's commitment to providing pro bono work for financially needy clients in 2012 continues. Because of this commitment and dedication, Greensfelder will receive the Gerald R. Ortbals Outstanding Law Firm Award. The award recognizes law firms that have truly distinguished themselves with an exemplary commitment to pro bono service.
Legal Services of Eastern Missouri has provided high quality legal assistance in civil cases to the low-income community for more than 50 years. In 2011, LSEM helped over 21,000 people (including clients and their household members) in 21 counties of eastern Missouri.
