The Trusts and Estates Practice Group at Greensfelder provides sophisticated and personal lifetime, estate and tax planning, and related legal services for family and individual clients. We counsel our clients and their families regarding the preservation of their wealth, the charitable component of their planning, probate process, and trust and estate administration. Our Practice Group represents entrepreneurs and owners of closely-held family businesses. We also represent a number of St. Louis charitable entities in their legal matters, assisting them in carrying out their goals and in their fund-raising efforts to continue their charitable works.
Our Practice Group counsels families and individual clients regarding the appropriate disposition of their property through basic and sophisticated lifetime, estate and charitable planning. We work with clients to minimize estate, gift and generation skipping transfer taxes and carry out their wishes. Our attorneys also advise clients regarding their life insurance, retirement plans and other unique assets. We assist clients with protection from creditors for themselves and their families, prepare gift and estate tax returns, counsel clients regarding tax-advantaged gifts to family members and charities, participate in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, prepare and negotiate prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, represent and plan for clients with special needs, and represent beneficiaries and fiduciaries in legal controversies involving trusts and estates.
Our attorneys serve our estate planning clients by utilizing the latest technology to assist in achieving the optimum solution to our clients’ tax and estate planning and personal or business needs. We have varied backgrounds and experience; we are active in the community serving on committees and boards for various estate planning and charitable organizations. Additionally, we work closely with other Greensfelder Practice Groups, including the Corporate, Employee Benefits, Real Estate,Intellectual Property and Technology, and Litigation Practice Groups, to ensure every resource available is used in the interest of our clients. Our attorneys also work closely with outside accounting, insurance, investment, banking and trust professionals in meeting our clients’ special needs.
