Joshua A. Stevens is an Associate in the Litigation Practice Group. Josh has experience representing and advising a range of businesses in legal areas such as franchise litigation, class action defense, anti-competitive practices, securities fraud, and real estate litigation.
He regularly litigates cases in some of the most challenging venues in the country, including state and federal courts in St. Louis, Missouri and Southern Illinois. His experience includes all aspects of litigation – from initial strategic planning through trial. Josh also has significant experience in appellate practice, including preparing multiple appellate briefs and oral argument in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Although Josh's practice focuses on litigation, he often advises his clients with regard to their non-litigation issues. He has experience advising in a broad range of legal and business issues, including business formation, strategic business planning, technology transactions, employment law, and other operational matters. His clients include businesses and organizations in the technology, financial services, franchise, medical and not-for-profit sectors.
Josh also routinely handles pro bono matters. He has represented multiple pro bono clients in fair housing and Veterans claims, including before the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
During law school, Josh was an intern for the Honorable Raymond W. Gruender of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He also was a mediator at the Better Business Bureau of St. Louis. Prior to law school, he was a marketing consultant for several area healthcare companies and a wholesale mortgage banker for a Fortune 500 financial institution.
Before undergraduate studies, Josh was an enlisted member of the United States Marine Corps.
