Mr. Glisson is an Officer in the Construction Practice Group. He represents contractors, owners, sureties and design professionals on a wide variety of construction matters in mediations, arbitration, and litigation in state and federal courts, and in hearings before government boards. His experience includes handling contract default claims, bid disputes, delay, acceleration and disruption/ inefficiency claims, differing site conditions claims, defective workmanship claims, engineering and design error claims, and mechanic’s lien/bond claims. Mr. Glisson also advises clients on issues pertaining to contract preparation, negotiation and administration.

Prior to joining the Firm, his professional experience included work with a consulting engineering firm and an engineering/construction company. Mr. Glisson has lectured and authored articles on a wide variety of construction law topics.

Cases

  • Airport Terminal Facility. McCarthy Building Companies, et al. v. City of St. Louis, 81 S.W.3d 139 (Mo.App. E.D. 2002). Represented general contractor in breach of contract action against the City of St. Louis arising out of construction of the East Terminal at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.
  • Federal Courthouse. J.E. Dunn Construction Company v. General Services Administration, GSBCA No. 14477, 00-1 BCA 30806, 2000 WL 260609 (March 2, 2000). Trial of contractor’s claim against government agency for additional costs incurred in constructing federal courthouse in Kansas City, Missouri due to defective specifications.
  • Highway Construction. Angelo Iafrate Construction, LLC v. Potashnick Construction, Inc. and The Travelers Casualty & Surety Co., 370 F.3d 715 (8th Cir. 2004). Trial of claims brought by a road contractor against surety for delays on a highway project in Arkansas.
  • Cement Manufacturing Plant. Arbitration of contractor’s claims for delay, inefficiency and extra work against owner based on the construction of a cement plant in Southern Illinois.
  • University Recreation Center. Trial of contractor’s differing site conditions and defective specifications claims against public owner related to the construction of a university recreation center in West Virginia.
  • Deep Water Well. Jury trial of well drilling contractor’s differing site conditions claim against public water district arising out of the construction of deep water well.
  • Nuclear Waste Handling Facility. Delay and inefficiency claims against construction manager pertaining to the construction of a nuclear waste facility for U. S. Department of Energy in Eastern Tennessee.
  • Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant. Contractor’s claims for delay and extra work arising out of construction of a wastewater treatment plant near Kansas City, Missouri.
  • Military Base. Bid protest on project for construction of new army aviation support facility in Rolla, Missouri.
  • Public Housing. Metro Demolition & Excavating Company v. H.B.D. Contracting, Inc., et al. 37 S.W.3d 843 (Mo.App. E.D. 2002) Enforcement of arbitration clause in contract between general contractor and subcontractor for excavation work on public housing project.
  • State Prison. Electrical supplier’s claims against surety and electrical contractor arising out of the construction of a prison in Northern Missouri.
  • Football Stadium/Exhibition Hall. Structural steel subcontractor’s claims against the general contractor for extra work/design defects arising out of the construction of a sport stadium/exhibition hall.,
  • Street Lighting Project. Electrical contractor's claims against municipality for contract balance, extra work and delay damages.
  • Assisted Living Facility. Owner's claims against general contractor of defective and non-complaint construction of new assisted and independent living facilities.
  • Residential Development. Jury trial of construction manager's claims against developer for contract balance and extra work related in development of large housing subdivision.
  • Apartment Complex. Jury trial for general contractor's claims against flooring subcontractor for cost of completion/correction.
