Ms. Hobson is an Associate in the Litigation Practice Group. She practices in the area of civil litigation including medical malpractice Defense and products liability defense, representing clients at the trial and appellate court levels in both Missouri and Illinois state and federal courts. Her experience includes defending both individual professionals and corporations in all aspects of litigation including numerous trials, mediations, summary judgment and other substantive motion arguments, and appeals in medical, insurance broker and legal malpractice claims, premises liability actions, and general commercial litigation.
Ms. Hobson received her Juris Doctorate, with a Certificate in Health Law, from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2002. She received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Creighton University in 1999. Ms. Hobson is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Defense Research Institute, American Health Lawyers Association, Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and Missouri Hospital Association. Within BAMSL, Ms. Hobson has served on the Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee as a Member-At-Large. She has been the Co-Chair of the YLD Social/Membership Committee and Chair of the Website Development Committee.

Cases

Medical Malpractice - House v. Associates in Women's Health Care, et al. Medical malpratice matter in which Plaintiffs alleged the defendant physician negligently stitched through Plaintiff's bowel during an open abdominal hysterectomy procedure. Plaintiffs' sought over $1 million in past and future economic and non-economic damages. The St. Louis County jury returned a defense verdict in less than 2 hours. Plaintiffs' appeal was subsequently denied by the Eastern District of Missouri.
Insurance Broker Malpractice - Clearbrook Houston v. Adrian N. Baker, Inc., et al. Defense verdict in St. Louis County in a $1.3 million insurance broker malpractice matter involving losses to an uninsured property after flooding caused by a hurricane in Houston.
Premises Liability - Erma Smith v. Saint Anthony's Health Center, et al. Defense verdict in Madison County Circuit Court on Plaintiff's claims of negligence as a result of getting her hand caught in an elevator on the hospital's premises. Additional claims of negligence were brought against the manufacturer of the elevator. Plaintiff sought $600,000 as total damages.
