No Estate Tax in 2010? Under current law, the estate tax and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax are both repealed for the year 2010, but will be reinstated in 2011. Several bills have been introduced that would extend the estate and GST taxes to be effective during 2010 - but none have passed. Greensfelder's Trusts & Estates Practice Group is closely monitoring these tax bills and how this legislative landscape affects our clients' estate plans and tax planning opportunities.

Dan Janich will be speaking on "Equity Interests in Limited Liability Companies" in a webinar sponsored by The National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) on February 24, 2010.  His presentation will address the types of equity interests available in an LLC and how such interests are treated for tax purposes.  Dan has contributed a chapter on this topic in the recent NCEO publication entitled "Equity Compensation for Limited Liability Companies."  You may register for this webinar online at www.nceo.org.
